Maryland Technology Assistance Program (MDTAP)

Assistive Technology (AT) is any piece of equipment or modification that helps an individual with a disability or senior citizen live an independent, fulfilling life. From hearing aids to video magnifiers, from grab bars to wheelchair-adapted vehicles, AT makes it possible for all individuals to enjoy equal opportunities and access.

The Maryland Technology Assistance Program, a program of the Maryland Department of Disabilities, offers an AT demonstration and Loaner Library (including aids for daily living, vision and hearing aids, communication devices, and much more), AT trainings and workshops, an online classifieds for AT, and low-interest financial loan programs for the purchase of AT.

The Maryland Assistive Technology Loan Program and the WorkABILITY Loan Program are low-interest loan programs open to Maryland residents with disabilities and their families. Loan amounts range from $500 - $50,000 for a wide variety of assistive technology including vehicles, computers, home modifications, hearing aids, work-related machinery, and more.
