Korean War Memorial
Dedicated May 27, 1990
The Korean War Memorial contains the names of the 527 Maryland citizens who died in hostile action during the Korean War along with the names of those Marylanders still listed as missing in action in that conflict.
The centerpiece of the memorial is a 2 ½ foot high ring of granite, measuring approximately 50 feet in diameter. The northern half of the ring is engraved with the names of soldiers who gave their lives during the conflict. The southern half of the ring consists of a series of panels depicting the history of the war. The center of the ring features a 26 foot diameter map of Korea embedded in granite. A walk, which bisects the ring, is anchored by a flag pole at each end: one flying the American flag; the other flying the Maryland state flag.
The Korean War Memorial is located at the Canton Water Park, 2903 Boston Street, Baltimore, MD 21224.
