Veterans Service & Benefits Program

The Service and Benefits Program of the Maryland Department of Veterans Affairs assists veterans and eligible dependents in acquiring their benefits. The staff of the Service Program is authorized to represent veterans and their dependents before the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, as well as provide general information to those seeking assistance, regardless of representation.

The Service Program currently has Service Officers located in communities throughout Maryland to aid and serve veterans and their eligible dependents. Contact the Program Office most convenient to you. Appointments may be scheduled through the Program Office nearest the itinerant location.

It pays to seek representation when filing claims for federal VA disability benefits.  U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs data shows that veterans represented by accredited organizations receive significantly greater disability benefits than their non-represented counterparts.
